- How to flatten an oak slab 1 x 1 m
More Information
Place a slab as high as possible.
The highest spot of the slab should almost touch the cross rails.
Check if the cross rails can run smoothly over the entire surface.
If your slab is thinner, place it on supporting aluminum profiles, sheets of plywood, etc.
Why is this high placement of the slab important?
1. This position allows you to check the router bit area through the plexiglass base during flattening.
2. The closer the flattening surface to the router, the better extraction of wooden dust.
3. This position also allows you to plane dustless up to 30mm (50mm with optional 50 and 60mm sealing brushes) of the slab surface without the additional lifting of the slab during the work.
